Do you ever wish that you could see things before they actually happen? You know, to stop something bad from happening? I do.
Last night was one of those nights. As mentioned before I was subbing for a friend at golf league, and it was great! We were having a blast, I played fairly well and it was beautiful weather for golfing. Afterwards we had a little food and another beer inside and somehow it started. A friend who applied for the same position I had, and didn't get the job either was constantly talking about how 'he' got robbed. Finally I just said(regrettably) that I was confident when he told me that it was between us, because I know quite a bit more about graphic design and marketing than he does. I couldn't have said anything worse.
We had both been drinking and after I said that the night took a turn for the worse. Long story short- there was a big argument, a lot of shit was said and we ending up going at it for a second. I had a friend pick me up because my car wouldn't start (my security system is messed up, sometimes it thinks the car is being stolen and doesn't allow gas to pump out) and went home. After venting on the phone, trying to call and explain that I didn't mean it as a malicious attack on him I decided to take a run and get my car.
Some might say, "Chase, running at 1 in the morning after you've been drinking isn't probably the best idea. Especially because you haven't ran since high school P.E.!"
Nonsense I say. It was great, it was exactly what I needed. I did stop and walk 2 times during the 3 mile jog, but I still completed it in just over 30 minutes. When I got to my car and got inside, it wouldn't start again...So I had to wait 10 minutes before my car will start(in case someone were actually stealing the car, they'd have to wait 10 minutes before the system will bypass the alarm and pump out gas).
By this time my buzz had more than worn off, and I was covered in sweat from head to toe. I have 2 huge blisters on my feet, next time I think I'll wear socks. I got home around 1:45 and called it a night. Of course I feel bad about what happened...I shouldn't have said what I did. But until I graduate from Superhero school and can go back in time I'm just going have to live with it.
