This could get down right ugly.

I am one of the least confrontational people you will ever meet. I try everything to avoid conflict. But I also have a limit, and when I feel like I am being taken advantage of or that someone is trying to use a situation to make me feel bad I can get nasty. My boss comes in again this morning and says,"Well, we put an ad in the paper but it won't run until Sunday.". First of all, why didn't they do it right away Tuesday or Wednesday morning after they found out? Anyways she continues to play the 'poor me' act and asks if I'd sit in and help with the interviews. I said I would have no problem doing that as she kept eyeing the calendar. I know what she is getting at. They aren't going to be able to find someone to do what I can do by my last day, the 14th. And no, I will not ask my new employer to bump back my start date. The sooner I'm out of here and into my new gig, the better. It's funny how the character and attitude of a person can change ...

I can tell already that this is going to be an akward two weeks.

This morning as soon as my boss' wife shows up she finds me and says,"Chase, we've gotta talk." in a voice that sounded how a mother speaks when she scolds her child. "Ok then." I replied as we walked into my office. She repeated the fact that I had put in my two weeks and looked at me as if I were to say sorry. She then says that two weeks really isn't enough time and that she wanted me to be able to show the new help the ropes. I replied by telling her that I had made a commitment and I have to take this opportunity. She walked out in the middle of a story about how every step they take forward they end up two steps back. Save it for Paula Abdul. I am in a good mood and am happy with the decision I have made thus far. Although I will miss Lucy, Jerry and Larry (the flies who seem to survive in this mess as well as I do). But 401 k, insurance, air conditioning...I so can't wait.

2 posts, one day, aren't you lucky.

Just a little side note: Someone stole 3 of my chromies. You know, off my rims. They even had the balls to put a different 'fake' chromie on. I'm way too high class for that. And I finally told my boss at 3:53 that I was putting in my 2 week notice. He calmly said,"Well, that's business!"...And left it at that. I had all sorts of wild scenarios made up in my head, and for what? I've gotta quit doing that.

Ahhhh...Finally.

As hoped, yesterday went great and I will start work at Pacific City Graphics on Tuesday, August 15! Now all I have to do is tell my current employer I'm done in two weeks. Sounds easy enough...Right? Well for some reason it's not that easy for me. I am planning on telling them after lunch, because one of the two people that I want to have present when I let them know isn't around this morning. I figure it will be hard enough to do it once so I should avoid having to say it twice! Oh well, I am sure they'll understand. Last night I was extremely nervous. I laid down and my mind was racing, I worked myself into a little state of panic. As I turned and shuffled trying to get comfortable in bed Sum said, "Give me your hand." and I did. The soft touch of her skin and the soothing rub reminded me why I do what I do, and why I want to become more. And at that moment I felt another hand, this one much smaller however. J had rolled over and put his hand on my slightl...

River + 100 degree day + Bud Light= Too much fun!

When I get off work this afternoon I am going to meet with the gentleman who could potentially be my next boss. Nervous, no...Desperate, yes. But I have been in this boat before...And I didn't get the job. None the less I have already been thinking about how I want to tell my current employer that I am leaving, so if this does go through then I'll be ready. I didn't really feel too bad about job searching and the whole nine. I have to do what I have to do. But yesterday brought the news that my current boss' son (the guy who pretends he is my boss) had a pretty rough ATV accident and has a broken collar bone, a few broke ribs and a broken back. As if we aren't in a big enough mess here! So now everyone at the shop has to pick it up to cover him while he's out. Then if I leave...Ouch. It seriously could be devastating to this company. In other news, both Summer and I got a little bit of sun this weekend! And by little, I mean a whole lot! A good friend of mine a...
