Last night... Holy shit.

Last night was great. So great in fact that I am sure if I were to have been pulled over on my way to work this morning I would definitely have went to jail (besides the fact I don't have a license, oops) for D.U.I.. By the way, thanks to all of my friends who came last night to the Chesterfield (all 8 of you). I understand I turn 23 everyday so those of you that didn't or couldn't make it, fuck off. I really don't know where to start. There are a ton of things on my mind after a night like last. First of all, thanks to Tony Bohnenkamp . He played 2 amazing sets, and got me something special for a gift... I couldn't of asked for a better birthday present. Oh my god. Second of all thanks to Jon P. He made the trip from Omaha, and frankly he made my day, month, whatever. It was awful cool. Jon knows me. We share the same dream, and that is to be somebody. We both want people to remember us. He is the kind of guy that you just know is there for you. I can go months wit...

They're watching you...

So today the big fuss is that the US government has been secretly listening to millions of phone calls all across the land, creating a database of information. Bush says the government is "not mining or trolling through the personal lives of millions of innocent Americans". Hmmm. I don't know exactly where I stand on this. National security is a huge deal to me. My biggest fear is that our country could piss off enough people for them to start a nuclear war. I think these people have proven they are willing to die for what they believe in. On the other hand anymore there is no such thing as privacy. Due to technology it's impossible to retain our privacy. Did you know it is extremely easy to put a script on a web page so that every time a person visits the page, it takes down their I.P. address, and can even give a latitude and longitude location for the person. This means if you are on the web, you are being tracked, monitored, watched and being spied on constantly. ...

Every single day I read a certain number of blogs. I like to read one from over seas, one from close here in the Midwest, a few from the west coast, but I have one particular blog I enjoy more than any other. Benjamin Wagner writes a daily journal (if not every day, pretty f-ing close to it) and has for several years. His writing fills a void for me, it gives me comfort. Comfort that I know others feel or have felt the way I do, and comfort that big things can happen. To me it is a huge accomplishment to put out something like 10 records (that I know of). It is also a huge accomplishment to work for MTV. This guy gets to be surrounded by the lights, the glamour, the action, but he still wants more. That's comforting. Today reading Ben's daily journal he talked about how he has dreamed of being on the cover of rolling stone ever since he was a little boy. Sure he hasn't done it YET, but he keeps trying and along the way has done some amazingly cool shit. I think that's w...

If I did everything I said I was going to do, I'd be alright.

But I don't everything... In fact I do hardly nothing at all. Another weekend has gone by, and I didn't do anything I had planned to do. I can't decide if that is my fault, maybe a problem with scheduling or maybe just the simple fact that I have the shitty habit of not getting things done. Either way I have to break the cycle, I have to change.
