"Orders? You giving me orders? Amigo, the only thing in this world that gives orders is boss. Boss. You got that?" (Tony Montana)

As you may or may not know I work as a graphic designer. Today my boss came up to me and said, " Did you send a proof to the Price group for their Anniversary Invitations?" I had, but first let me tell you more about the job from hell... This guy came in on a Friday, wants to have the job ready by Monday, yeah 3 days away. We told him that was a no go. Next he wants to make a completely original design for the front cover, taken from a gold emblem that the family owns. That was no fun either. Then he decides he wants to have clovers in the background. Anyways it was a pain in the ass. I got everything finished and sent him a proof. On the inside of the card there was a mistake I made when typing in the text, but that is why we send a proof to the client. So THEY can proofread it. He missed the mistake, and my boss noticed it as he was finishing the run. "Well since you sent him a proof and he ok's it we are going to just act like we didn't see it at all!" Wh...

Acceptance is not submission

Great things happen when the right place and the right time meet. Most often not by chance, but by years of hard work and preparation. Now isn't that time, I am not in the right place. My posts about going for it sounded great at the time, but in all actuality they aren't very practical. Paul H. I think I am just going to get off of the track and accept the 8.50/hr I am worth... at least for now anyway. “Acceptance is not submission; it is acknowledgement of the facts of a situation. Then deciding what you're going to do about it.”

You can call me Al

Yah, choking the chicken. Laugh it up. Believe it or not this chicken has traveled over 55,000 MILES, and The Attic was one of its many stops. Check out more about it and see me with Towncrier at www.wheresthechicken.com As I sit here I noticed something. I feel good. I didn't do anything extra special today to deserve this- but wait, I did. I went to Shoutcast and chose the 80's groove channel. It was one of the best things I have done in months. Right now Paul Simon's -"You can call me Al" is pumping out of my 2" speakers . The 80's were great. I used to roll the ends of my pants tight (that is after I got the hang of it and quit making my mom do it) and jam Warrant out of some new contraption called a CD player. And whatever happened to the high-five? I have tried numerous times over the years to bring it back with minimal success. Well enough reminiscing I have work to do, which is trying to find more work to do. If you are in need of a website, ca...
